Rachel has made a large messy unloved border into one of colour, shape, interest and beauty.

Rachel is just brilliant. We had a very neglected large north facing border that for many years was riddled with bindweed and brambles growth. Rachel has painstakingly cut back and cleared the brambles and dug out their roots and the bindweed roots. She improved the soil and now put in the best plants for the area. 

She also created a new border in another part of the garden. 

We’re looking forward to seeing both borders flourish through the year and into the future.  

Rachel works with her clients on the sort of plants they want and how those plants will work in the borders. She considers the views of the borders from where they are most likely to be seen, in the different seasons, as well as thinking ahead and creating all-year-round interest.

She very much works with ecology in mind. moving existing plants to better locations, not using chemicals and reusing plants and bulbs in the new design.

I wanted a garden I could look after more easily. At the discussion and planning stages Rachel was very co-operative and managed to combine the features and plants I wished to keep with her own ideas.

I wanted a water feature but found the existing pond too difficult to maintain. Rachel replaced the pond with a pebbled area with a small fountain feature, which still gives me the sound of trickling water. 

The garden is just re-establishing itself and it is a constant delight to discover the plants as they begin to grow and flower in their new locations. 

I am very pleased because many of these plants represent happy memories of people and places from my past. Despite the fact that I have had very little time to spend in the garden during the last couple of months, I do not think it will take me too long to get things neat and tidy again. Just what I wanted!

Rachel is pleasant, cheerful and veryhardworking. I have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone who needs help with their garden. Just remind her to stop for a drink occasionally!
